Professional data visualization services

Turn complex data into interactive experiences people can explore.

Create interactive maps, visual stories, research tools, and tailored data-driven interfaces. Work directly with VizHub founder Curran Kelleher, from a guided prototype to a scoped React and D3 implementation your team can maintain.

Custom React + D3 · Sprint code handoff · No required VizHub hosting after handoff

Two ways to work together

Start with a prototype or commission a custom build

Explore a focused idea together for $500, or commission a scoped implementation starting at $5,000. Both paths begin with your dataset, audience, and a clear goal.

Custom implementation

Custom Visualization Sprint

$5,000+starting price

Commission a fixed-scope interactive React/D3 visualization, with working source code, structured reviews, and handoff.

Typically one week, subject to agreed scope and schedule. Deliverables and payment terms are confirmed in writing.

Guided prototype

Rapid Visualization Prototype

$500one-time · two sessions

Bring a usable dataset and an idea. Build an interactive prototype together in two guided sessions.

Two sessions of up to 60 minutes each. Prototype scope, not production delivery.

Your $500 goes toward a full sprint. If you move forward with a Custom Visualization Sprint for the same project, we'll credit your $500 prototype fee toward the sprint and build on the work we've already done.

Start small. Build on what you learn.

Prototype your idea in two working sessions. If you decide to commission a Custom Visualization Sprint for the same project, your $500 prototype fee is credited toward the agreed sprint price. The prototype becomes a starting point, not a separate dead end.

Sprint timelines and deliverables depend on written scope. The $500 prototype includes two guided sessions of up to 60 minutes each, not production delivery.

Collaboration

The challenge
Make the geographic distribution of coral reefs accessible to a broad audience.
The approach
Use a globe as the organizing interface for reef locations.
What you can explore

What you receive

Every engagement is scoped in writing first. When implementation is involved, the output is code your team owns and can maintain.

  • Code your team owns

For scoped sprint implementations, receive React and D3 source code and handoff guidance your team can maintain and deploy without requiring VizHub hosting.

  • Structured reviews

An early working version plus consolidated feedback milestones inside the agreed scope.

  • Handoff and documentation

Definitions, data-source attribution, and guidance your team can use to maintain or extend the work.

Common project types

Standalone interactive

A single, focused visualization built for clarity and depth.

Explorable system

Multiple coordinated views for comparison or analysis.

Embedded module

A visualization designed to live inside an existing site or app.

Who this is for

Teams with real data, real users, and real deadlines.

Research & academic teams
Explorable, technically sound systems that translate complex research without oversimplifying it.
Nonprofits, foundations & NGOs
Credible public communication of impact, funding, or outcomes that respects nuance and uncertainty.
Consulting & strategy teams
Decision-support tools that turn a written analysis into something clients can explore and use.
Product & platform teams
Custom React and D3 features designed for integration into existing applications and engineering workflows.
Design studios & agencies
A technical partner who works inside your creative vision instead of constraining it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Share your brief

Tell us about your data, audience, intended interactions, budget, and deadline. Inquiries are free.

  2. 2

    Agree on scope

Confirm the deliverables, schedule, price, and terms before any paid work begins.

  3. 3

    Build and review

Explore approaches with AI-assisted prototyping where useful, then refine the chosen direction through expert design, engineering, and feedback within the agreed scope.

  4. 4

    Handoff

Receive the agreed output and next steps, including code and documentation where specified.

Frequently asked questions

What data do I need?
A usable dataset and a clear goal make the best starting point. You can attach a CSV or ZIP file to a project inquiry. Substantial data preparation is scoped separately.
Will I receive the source code?
The sprint includes source code and handoff guidance under the written agreement. The guided package is a working prototype, not a production implementation.
Can the prototype lead into a full sprint?
If you move forward with a Custom Visualization Sprint for the same project, we'll credit your $500 prototype fee toward the sprint and build on the work we've already done.
What if my project is larger?
Share your requirements and we can discuss a custom scope, additional visualizations, integrations, or ongoing support without another public pricing tier.

Have data that deserves a better visualization?

Share what you're working on, who it's for, and when you need it. We'll discuss fit and scope before any paid work begins. An inquiry is free and does not book or purchase a service.
