Security & Data FAQ
Last updated: September 2026
Where does my data live?
Project metadata, visualizations, revision history, and uploaded datasets are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Thumbnails and large assets are stored in object storage. Data is encrypted in transit.
Who can see my work?
VizHub supports public, unlisted, and private work. Public visualizations can be discovered; unlisted standalone work is link-accessible but not listed in public discovery. Project permissions can further restrict access to project-owned work. Free users can create and publish public work. New unlisted (link-only) or private personal work requires Pro, including unpublishing a public visualization. Existing unlisted/private work is never automatically made public after a downgrade. Organization access follows project visibility, membership, and permissions.
AI subprocessors
AI edits are generated by third-party model providers, routed through OpenRouter. The prompt and relevant file or dataset content are sent to those providers to produce a result. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What should I not upload?
VizHub AI Studio is not currently intended for regulated or highly sensitive data, for example PHI/HIPAA data, payment card data, government identifiers, or other data subject to special compliance obligations, unless covered by a separate written agreement. Do not upload such data without one.
