A bowl of fruit demonstrates interactive selection with animated SVG transitions in React. Apples render as red circles and lemons as yellow circles, with click-to-select highlighting the chosen fruit with a black outline. The example uses d3.scaleOrdinal for color and radius mapping, while d3 transitions animate circle radius changes when fruits are added or removed. Data updates occur through timed functions that remove, replace, and filter fruit array elements, showcasing enter, update, and exit selections.
