This interactive heatmap visualizes the number of infected individuals across regions and age categories during the early pandemic. It uses a red sequential color scale to encode counts, with Hubei and Shaanxi showing the highest infection numbers, particularly in older age groups. Built with D3 v4, the visualization renders as an SVG using `d3.scaleBand` for axes, `d3.scaleSequential` with `d3.interpolateReds` for colors, and includes tooltip interactions on hover. Data comes from the `age_v2.csv` file.

AI-generated description

This visualisation was implemented to show the rate of spread between people in the early stages of the outbreak. as we can see the heatmap is an interactive heatmap that shows the number of people at the bottom of the heatmap.

From analysis we can see that the provinces of Hubei and Shaanxi were hit very badly with maximum number of cases arising from tha part. and most of them in the age group of 66+ years.
