Five pieces of fruit sit in a brown SVG bowl, rendered with D3 v5’s general update pattern. Apples and lemons are distinguished by color and radius via `scaleOrdinal`, while circles and text labels update in place as `setTimeout` calls modify the array. Data joins handle enter, update, and exit selections manually through `selection.merge` and `.remove()`.
