This visualization shows monthly average temperatures for U.S. states in 2024, with an interactive multi-select list to choose which states to display. It renders both area charts and overlaid line paths for each selected state, using a color-coded legend and tooltips on hover. The code uses D3 v7 APIs including `d3.area`, `d3.line`, `d3.scaleTime`, `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.csv`, and `d3.axisBottom` to load synthetic temperature data from a remote CSV and render animated SVG paths. Users can show the top eight states or clear the current selection.
