Collapsible Tree Hierarchy - Real Data
This interactive collapsible tree visualizes a hierarchical structure of medical terms derived from MeSH data. The visualization displays the tree as an SVG graphic, with nodes representing medical concepts and connections illustrating their relationships. Users can click on nodes to expand or collapse subtrees, while a dedicated info panel shows the term’s name, key, and description. Built with D3.js v6, the tree uses animated transitions via `transition()` and `attrTween` to smoothly reposition nodes and links. The code implements a custom `convertToHierarchy` function to transform flat JSON data into a nested tree structure.
AI-generated descriptionThis is a Hierarchy Tree of Medical data which includes
- Various medical terms
- Short descriptions of the term
- Keys to relate terms to one another
Somethings that I am working on include are...
- Getting another set of data that will hold information on
- How much has something been studied
- Outcomes of differnt procedures
- Side effects and results
Some questions that I want to look to answer are...
- Given some disease, what other diseases are related?
- What are some of the biggest groups of treatment types?
- Is the MeSH tree balanced, or are some subtrees bigger/smaller than others?
Things I know are wrong and need to be fixed are...
- Correctly change the information div such that is does not cover the tree and moves with the height changes
- Some parent nodes have been created such that child nodes can be acsessed and create long single link chains
