This map of African states uses a geographic projection to render land features and interior boundaries as SVG paths. Built with React and D3 v5, the visualization loads TopoJSON data from a GitHub gist and applies the geoAlbersUsaTerritories projection via d3.geoPath. Land areas are filled with a purple hue while internal borders appear as red strokes, and the map displays a loading state until the data is fetched. The code relies on topojson’s feature and mesh functions to extract geometries for rendering.
