Five fruit circles animate through the general update pattern with D3's data join, enter, update, and exit selections. Apples transition from radius 50 to 20 when replaced by lemons, while removed fruits shrink to zero before deletion. The visualization uses `selection.merge`, `selection.transition`, and ordinal scales from d3-scale to map fruit types to sizes and colors in an SVG.
