This interactive visualization displays New York City census tracts on a rotatable and zoomable orthographic globe projection. The map shows tract boundaries with empty fills and thin black strokes, draggable to adjust rotation and zoomable to change the scale. The code uses d3.geoOrthographic, d3.geoPath, d3.drag, and d3.zoom to render and manipulate the map. Census tract geometry comes from a TopoJSON file downloaded from the U.S. Census Bureau and processed with Mapshaper, with demographic data from the American Community Survey.
