It loads a hardcoded JSON dataset of five cars, simulates a network request with a two-second delay, and displays a message element showing “Loading…” until data arrives. The `generateReport` function filters cars below a maximum price and formats each entry using the custom `formatCar` function, which returns a string with year, make, model, and price. The output is rendered into an HTML `<pre>` element.
