A horizontal bar chart ranks the ten most popular programming languages on GitHub by active repository count, with JavaScript leading and C# trailing. The visualization uses D3 v5’s `scaleBand` for the categorical y-axis, `scaleLinear` for the numeric x-axis, and `axisLeft` and `axisBottom` for tick labels. Data is loaded from a local CSV via `csv` and rendered as SVG rectangles. Population counts are multiplied by 1,000 to reflect actual repository numbers, with bars styled in steel blue via CSS.
