This choropleth map displays the global prevalence of HIV/AIDS among adults aged 15–49 for the year 2017, using color intensity to represent infection rates. Countries with missing data appear grey. Built with React and D3 v5, the visualization uses d3.geoNaturalEarth1 and d3.geoPath to render country boundaries and graticules from World Atlas TopoJSON, while d3.scaleSequential with an interpolateYlOrRd color scale maps data values. The underlying dataset is sourced from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).
