This example presents a horizontal bar chart of the top ten countries by population in the year 2000, using React with SVG rendering. The code applies d3.scaleBand for the categorical country axis and d3.scaleLinear for the population scale, with bars generated by the Marks component. Axis components use d3’s tick system, and values are formatted with d3.format’s SI notation, converting billions to an abbreviated form. Data is loaded asynchronously via d3.csv from a GitHub-hosted CSV file, and the chart includes a custom Poppins font and blue gridlines.
