A custom reusable chart function, inspired by Mike Bostock's Towards Reusable Charts pattern, uses d3.scaleLinear, d3.axisLeft, d3.axisBottom, and d3.scaleOrdinal with d3.symbols to render different shapes for each species. Every 15 seconds, the x-axis automatically switches between petal_width, sepal_width, petal_length, and sepal_length, animating the data points as the axis updates.
