This example visualizes the profits of a software company from 2009 to 2018 using a smoothed area chart rendered as SVG. The chart combines a black, curved line with a pink filled area beneath it, while axes display blue tick labels and green grid lines. The code uses d3.scaleTime for the x-axis, d3.scaleLinear for the y-axis, and d3.line and d3.area generators with d3.curveBasis for smoothing. Data is loaded from a CSV file using d3.csv and parsed with d3.timeParse.
