This visualization shows the distribution of world cities with their populations represented by semi-transparent orange circles scaled by square-root area. The map uses a natural Earth projection with graticules, country borders, and interior boundaries rendered via d3.geoPath and d3.geoNaturalEarth1. Circles are positioned using the projection function and sized with d3.scaleSqrt based on population data loaded from a CSV via d3.csv. The React component structure uses custom hooks (useWorldAtlas, useData) to fetch and process TopoJSON world atlas data and city coordinates.
