Five circles representing apples animate into a bowl, then morph through enter, update, and exit phases. The general update pattern is demonstrated as fruits are eaten, replaced with lemons, and filtered, with each change triggering smooth transitions. The example uses d3’s selection joins, scaleOrdinal for color and radius, and chained transition calls over three seconds. Data is random-generated in index.js and rendered as SVG circles.
