This scatter plot visualizes the relationship between the approximate year of invention and the popularity of musical instruments, with each point colored by instrument category and labeled with the instrument name on hover. Built with D3.js v7, the visualization loads CSV data from a GitHub gist and renders an SVG chart with axes, gridlines, and a categorical color legend. The implementation uses `d3.csv`, `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.scaleOrdinal`, and `d3.axisBottom`/`d3.axisLeft` to map the data, while interactive tooltips are handled through D3 event listeners on the circles.
