This piece layers horizontal and vertical striped rectangles into a square grid on a full-screen canvas, with a circular mask inverting the pattern at the center. Using raw SVG elements and masks (`mask`, `rect`, `circle`) created via the DOM API, the code defines two complementary masks: one black rectangle with a white circle, the other inverted, so the horizontal bands show inside the circle while vertical bands fill the rest of the space. The work is a generative reproduction of Sol LeWitt’s geometric style, built entirely with JavaScript and no external libraries.
