The visualization uses d3.scaleOrdinal to map fruit types to colors and radius sizes, while the general update pattern joins data to SVG circles via selection.data, merging enter and update selections, and animating exit transitions with d3.transition. Built with React and d3.v6, the state changes are triggered by setTimeout calls that modify the fruits array.
