This example shows the total number of global COVID-19 deaths as of the latest date in the dataset, displayed as large text in a `<pre>` element. It loads the Johns Hopkins CSSE time-series CSV, reads the final date column, sums all numeric values with `Array.reduce`, and formats the result with `d3.format`. The visualization relies on `d3.csv` for data loading and updates the page text via the DOM.
