This bar chart displays the top 10 most populous countries as of January 1, 2024, using data from the UN population estimates. It shows each country's total population in thousands, sorted in descending order. The visualization filters the dataset to country-level records, sorts by population, and selects the top ten entries. The chart is rendered using d3's `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` to map countries and population values to positions, with axis labels positioned via the `@curran/axis-labels` library.
