The map uses a natural Earth projection via `d3.geoNaturalEarth1` and `d3.geoPath`, with circles sized by the square-root scale of the reported deaths and missing persons. The lower panel displays a monthly histogram of the same metric, binned using `d3.bin` with `d3.timeMonths` thresholds. The visualization is built with React and D3 v7, rendering SVG elements, and sources data from a CSV of the Missing Migrants project.
