This example shows the distribution of IMDb ratings across six film genres, with each genre’s ratings divided into five percentage-based categories from below 5.0 to above 8.5. A stacked horizontal bar chart encodes these proportions, using d3.stack() to compute the layered segments and d3.scaleBand() for the genre rows. Hovering over a segment highlights it and displays the exact percentage for that rating range via a tooltip. The visualization uses d3.v7, renders to SVG, and sources its data from a CSV file with genre and rating proportions.
