This piece generates a grid-based abstract composition of colored rectangles on an SVG canvas. It uses D3.js functions like `select`, `range`, and `symbol` to lay out the shapes, and defines two SVG masks to create geometric patterns from text symbols. Each rectangle is assigned a random RGB color, and the code loops to place multiple alternating column groupings across the width, resulting in a vibrant, generative art piece. The rendering is purely procedural, with no external data source.
