This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt-style geometric artwork using d3.js. It renders a grid of vertical and horizontal rectangles whose visibility is masked by d3 symbols (circles, crosses, diamonds, and squares) positioned across the canvas. The SVG output uses two masks to alternately reveal or hide the grid lines, creating an intricate interplay of shapes and negative space. The code leverages d3.select, d3.range, d3.symbols, and d3.symbol to programmatically generate the composition.
