This visualization presents the hierarchical structure of world countries organized by continent and subregion, using a tree layout that branches from a central “World” node. Country names appear at varying font sizes based on their depth in the hierarchy, with linking paths connecting parent and child nodes. The implementation uses D3 v5’s `tree`, `hierarchy`, and `linkHorizontal` functions to compute the layout, while `zoom` enables interactive panning and scaling. Data is loaded from a JSON file, and the SVG rendering applies a custom Playfair Display font with white text shadows for readability.
