The visualization uses a Natural Earth projection via `geoNaturalEarth1` and `geoPath` to render landmasses, country interiors, graticules, and a sphere backdrop. City coordinates are projected onto the map, and circle radii are scaled with `scaleSqrt` based on population data from Simplemaps. Built with React and d3.v5, the SVG rendering includes styled land, sphere, and interior boundary paths for a polished cartographic appearance.
