The chart uses an SVG canvas created with React and D3 v5 APIs, including `scaleBand` for the y-axis and `scaleLinear` for the x-axis. Data is fetched from a remote CSV file using D3’s `csv` method. Each bar includes a tooltip showing the formatted population value; x-axis tick labels are formatted with `d3.format`.
