This example shows a horizontal bar chart of the top 10 countries by projected 2020 population, drawn from the World Population Prospects 2019 dataset. The visualization displays each country's population as a bar’s length, sorted by value, with a fixed margin convention of 30 pixels on all sides. The code uses React for the interface and D3 v5’s `scaleBand`, `scaleLinear`, and `max` functions to map country names and population values to screen coordinates, rendering the bars as SVG `rect` elements.
