This example visualizes the top 10 most populous countries as horizontal bars ordered by population, with axes providing country names and population values. Built with React and D3’s scaleBand and scaleLinear, it renders an SVG chart using the d3-axis.v2 library for tick marks and labels. The data comes from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019, loaded as CSV via d3.csv in useData.js. The chart includes both a left axis displaying country names and a bottom axis showing population units.
