A force-directed network diagram shows a hierarchical dataset of continents and countries, with a root node for "World" linked to Asia and Europe, which further connect to India, Japan, and Germany. Each node type is rendered as a distinct SVG shape: a blue rectangle for the root, purple circles for continents, and green ellipses for countries. The layout is computed using d3.forceSimulation with forceLink and forceManyBody, while positioned nodes and links are updated on each simulation tick.
