This example shows 2022 US auto sales by brand as a pie chart, with each slice representing a brand’s year-to-date sales as a share of the total. The chart displays color-coded segments, a legend with brand names, and both percentage and raw sales (in thousands) labels. Using d3.csv to load data from a GitHub gist, the code employs d3.pie, d3.arc, and d3.scaleOrdinal to compute and render the SVG paths, and d3.format to abbreviate numeric tick labels.
