A bowl of fruit demonstrates special cases of the General Update Pattern for data joins. Animated transitions show five apples shrinking, disappearing, and morphing into lemons, with each fruit’s radius and label size changing accordingly. The example uses d3-selection with enter, merge, and exit methods, ordinal scales for color and radius, and d3-transition with a 1000-millisecond duration to animate attribute changes on SVG circles and text elements.
