A fork of a bowl of apples demonstrates a simple data join animation using D3 v7 within a React setup, rendering SVG circles. It shows five fruit objects, initially all apples, that are drawn in a row. After one second, an apple is removed from the end of the array, and the exiting circle exits. A moment later, the middle apple's type is changed to a lemon, which updates its color and radius via scaleOrdinal mappings. The code uses select, range, and scaleOrdinal to manage the visualization.
