The bars are rendered as SVG rectangles with lengths proportional to each country’s 2020 population, sourced from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019. The chart includes both x- and y-axis tick marks and labels generated via `scaleLinear` and `scaleBand`. React manages the state and rendering, while d3.csv loads and parses the data, and d3’s `max`, `scaleLinear`, and `scaleBand` compute scales for the visualization.
