This example displays two linked visualizations of Gapminder data from the year 2000: a horizontal bar chart of fertility rates on the left and a scatterplot of life expectancy versus fertility on the right. Clicking a bar or circle highlights that country in both views by turning non-selected elements grey, while a second click resets the highlighting. Built with D3 v5, the bar chart uses `scaleLinear` and `scaleBand` for axes, while the scatterplot encodes cluster membership through a categorical color scale. Both views load their shared dataset from a CSV file and render as SVG.
