This interactive scatterplot lets users explore the relationship between numeric car attributes (like horsepower and weight) from the auto-mpg dataset by using two dropdown menus to select which columns appear on the x- and y-axes. The visualization updates with animated transitions of the circles and axes using D3 v5’s `scaleLinear`, `axisBottom`, `axisLeft`, and `transition` APIs. The SVG rendering applies a 1000-millisecond staggered delay per point, with the plot drawn from the CPSC 436V course example.
