This example visualizes global population growth from 1000 to 2020 CE using a blue area chart rendered as an SVG. The chart’s dimensions are dynamically set to match the browser window’s client width and height, updating the viewport to the full page. Built with D3 v5, the code uses `d3.select` to manipulate the SVG element, appending a rounded rectangle as a background. Population data is loaded from a CSV file, with each year’s value mapped to the chart’s y-axis to show historical trends.
