What is Bodhichitta?
Bodhichitta (Sanskrit: बोधिचित्त, "awakened mind") is the mind of enlightenment - a mind that strives toward awakening and compassion for the benefit of all sentient beings. It is a central concept in Mahayana Buddhism and particularly emphasized in Tibetan Buddhism.
The cultivation of Bodhichitta begins with the development of compassion and love for all beings, coupled with the wish to liberate them from suffering.
