This Star-viz is a beautiful scrollable globe made by Gareth Peat on ObservableHQ, embedded in this vizhub page following the guidelines on Observable's Downloading and Embedding Notebooks page.

(I wonder whether it is possible to fork it and change the view/perspective/what's-the-right-word-for-it(*), so that you are looking OUT of the globe/UP at the stars into space, rather than DOWN onto the globe from the moon?)

The dragging, I note, is of the advanced kind(1), which keeps the dragged point under the cursor.
