Happy Holi Visualization

An interactive web visualization celebrating Holi, the vibrant Hindu Festival of Colors. This visualization features animated color particles that simulate the colorful powders (gulal) thrown during Holi celebrations, with authentic decorative elements and patterns.

Features

  • Dynamic color particles with diverse shapes floating across the screen that resemble actual color powder (gulal)
  • Authentic Holi symbols and decorative elements floating in the background
  • Detailed rangoli-inspired pattern with lotus design
  • Interactive - click or touch anywhere to create color "explosions"
  • Automatic color bursts that simulate festival celebrations
  • Responsive design that works on various devices including touch support for mobile

How It Works

The visualization uses HTML Canvas to create animated color particles with physics-based movement properties. Each particle has natural movements with rotation and size changes to mimic real powder behavior. The visualization also includes:

  • Multiple particle shapes to represent different types of Holi colors
  • Traditional Holi symbols like pichkaris (water guns), water balloons, flowers, and dhols (drums)
  • Enhanced rangoli pattern with concentric circles, radial lines, and decorative elements
  • Authentic color palette representing traditional Holi colors

About Holi

Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival celebrated primarily in India and Nepal. Known as the "Festival of Colors" or the "Festival of Love," it signifies the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. During Holi celebrations, people gather to throw colored powders (gulal) and water at each other, play music, dance, and share festive foods.
