Finally through Part 1 (11.5 hours)!

Want to thank Curran for putting in the effort in creating Vizhub where setting up and working with react is easy and for taking folks through React+D3 one step at a time.

I was determined to go through part 1 and after getting really stuck at one point, I stopped and got back to it in a week and went through the entire thing.

Extremely embarrassed to say, I made a google sheets with checkboxes and conditionally formatted cells to keep me motivated

I have tried to learn D3 3 times since 2015 and gave up each time! Curran’s course was a huge help. Not being able to learn d3.js was something that bothered me for years!

Definitely going to go ahead and build my own interesting applications.

Great job Pranav! Cool to see how you motivated yourself in the end. Try making a simple but fun project with what you’ve learned now so you can show off your new skills to yourself

Awesome @pranav-vis!

I really like the spreadsheet idea.

In fact, I think it might make a lot of sense to build something like this into VizHub itself. Imagine if the platform could “understand” that a series of vizzes are part of a course, and you could mark them as “completed” one by one. That would be awesome.

Also, if you haven’t seen the other courses, check out this Index of Courses.

That does sound really cool! Will check out the others, thank you!

@curran I just remembered. There’s a developer called Mosh Hamedani whose platform has this feature. It’s likely built on an off the shelf product. Link here: https://codewithmosh.com/courses

Oh interesting! I poked around in his site and it looks like he’s using Teachable.
