This is a scatter plot which takes a Book Publishing Dataset and compares a book's average rating with its gross sales value. The book (represented by a point in the visual) is colored based on its publisher and its size represents how many units were sold.
This scatter plot builds off my previous constructed one, where I looked at the relationship between a published book's average rating and its' number of ratings. Keeping in line with my CS 573 Project Proposal, I changed the scatter plot to instead compare a book's average rating and its gross sales value.
There are a few other major changes I implemented this week. The points are now colored based on the book's publisher; a key to the colors is displayed in the top left of the visual. I based my key design off of the one Robert Johnson used in their Hits and Homeruns Scatterplot.
The biggest chance is definetely the pop-up window that occurs when you hover over a point in the visual. This pop-up window displays the book's title, author(s), publisher, average rating and gross sales value. I used Chris William's example as a base and altered elements for my desired outcome.
