A program that loads and parses US Births 1994-2014 by day (CDC, NCHS & SSA).
Based on data sourced at fivethirtyeight. This is stored in two different datasets from two sources so I've merged them together and added a few columns. 2000-2003 data is slightly different between the two sources so has been averaged.
This was used by the authors to figure out whether children were less likely to be born on a Friday 13th as this is considered an unlucky combination of day of week and date of month in certain cultures. It follows that a dataset like this could be used to test a range of other PESTAL hypothesis that may influence the times of the year that are popular or unpopular for births.
