This bar chart shows the relationship between money spent by local municipalities to attract Hollywood productions to film there, and the resulting production costs spent in those local municipalities. For example, Georgia spent around $80 million dollars to Disney/Marvel so they would film "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in Georgia. Consequently, the production spent $445 million in Georgia to film. That money presumably went to local production crews, rental houses, catering, etc. though the municipality (Georgia) may retrieve some of that spending back in sales tax to local vendors, the net benefit is the infusion of Californian cash into the pockets Georgia locals. In theory. This demonstrates how effective non-Californian movie incentives are at moving "Hollywood" out of California.
