This visualization was constructed using the vega-lite-api. It was originally forked from one of Curran Kelleher's Vega-Lite API templates and modified to include Student to Teacher Ratio data which originates from R for Data Science's Tidy Tuesday weekly event for May 7, 2019.
This chart shows Student to Teacher Ratio by Education Type. My goal was to use a simple metric as a starting point for visualizations, and I hoped to see an interesting correlation. I introduced some opacity to allow the concentration of data points to be better expressed.
The graphic gives a rough idea. Primary Education is not as concentrated as the other categories. However, with this much data crammed into one chart, it's hard to make generalizations. It does highlight outliers, which can be identified by tooltip.
