This is a subset from a larger dataset from Home Math Environment project (downloaded here: https://ldbase.org/datasets/28729a95-d898-4271-b16e-dc67be8d8689)
In the project, 339 parents of children aged 3 through 8 answered a questionnaire about their attitudes towards their children math education and their in-home math environment.
Data dictionary:
- 'numberofchildren' - number of children in the family. Quantitative.
- 'highschoolGPAblocks' - parental high school GPA in intervals 0-1.0, 1.1 - 2.0, 2.1 - 3.0, 3.1 - 3.5, 3.6 - 4.0. Ordinal.
- 'compare_child_math' - parental answer to the question “Compared to 100 people this child’s age, he/she would be better than ________ of them with math”. Quantitative.
- 'famrole1' : ‘famrole5' - parental answers on several questions regarding family role in kids’ education on a likert scale from 1 to 5. Ordinal.
- 'mathathomeuse1' :’ mathathomeuse52' - responses on 52 questions about regularity of doing 52 different math actitivies with their kids, parents answered on a likert scale from 0 to 5. Ordinal.
The following information could be visualized:
- Does parent’s IQ predicts their opinion on how much parents responsible for kids education? Does the number of kids in family moderate this association?
- Does parental GPA predicts their kid’s score? Does the number of kids in the family moderate this association?
